Are your physical activities making you a more attractive individual?

Creating a lifestyle that is healthy AND attractive to people is very important. On that note physical fitness ranks high as a quality one should look for in people you deal with. Are the people you are letting into your life setting themselves up for a long and healthy life and do they respect their bodies?

People often ask me “what should I do to workout?”

My first answer to the question is to avoid falling into a long contract with a personal trainer. A couple sessions with a trainer to learn basic movements are ok in the beginning, but after that you want to be doing some sort of group activity for your fitness. Think boot camp fitness classes, TRX, Crossfit, HIITX. Why? Just like quitting cigarettes is impossible if your close friends are all still smoking, having a healthy diet and exercising is almost impossible to maintain if you don’t have some close friends that are also enjoying healthy habits. A fun thing to do is to drop into different gyms once or twice a month to check them out and maybe make friends with others into healthy living.

Further, consider if your physical activity is just something you do, or is that something you can really get good at and make a compelling, attractive part of your life. Are you just a guy that goes to the gym, or have you learned enough that you could bring someone with you and show them everything, can you earn a certification? Are you kayaker or sailor – can you do your sport better and safer by taking classes and earning certifications through national organizations? Currently I am going to earn my BCU 4 star kayak rating. It will be a refresher on technique and rescue from a kayak and some new training on navigation. When I bring people kayaking with me I can teach them and also have all the gear and knowledge to safely get people in and out of tough situations.
