The often overlooked and forgotten trains of our country are a fun experience to ride, which many have forgotten about. For affordable rates, you can ride the train and look out the observation deck as the country goes by. Even a short trip can be a good time. Amtrak also has vacation packages to look into and there are amazing opportunities to ride old style locomotive powered trains in Colorado and other states. The train out of Durango, CO, comes to mind or the train to the top of Pike’s Peak!
